Tiger Woods has formally submitted his entry into the 2010 U.S. Open, meaning the world's No. 1 player will return to Pebble Beach Golf Links where 10 years ago he was victorious in arguably the most famous golf tournament in history.

AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am extends contract with Monterey Peninsula Country Club

Monterey Peninsula Foundation and the PGA TOUR announced today that the Monterey Peninsula Country Club Shore Course will be a part of the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am course rotation for the next four years. The four-year agreement was reached with full support of the Monterey Peninsula Country Club board of directors and membership.

2010 U.S. Open Entry Applications

Entry applications for the 2010 U.S. Open, scheduled June 14-20 at Pebble Beach Golf Links, are now available.

A record 9,086 entries — from all 50 states, the District of Columbia and 71 foreign countries — were submitted to the USGA for the 2009 U.S. Open at Bethpage Black in New York. The previous entry record was 9,048 for the 2005 U.S. Open at Pinehurst No.2.

3rd times the charm for Mark Brooks at the Callaway Golf Pebble Beach Invitational 2009

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. -- Mark Brooks won the Callaway Golf Pebble Beach Invitational for a record third time, birdieing three of the last four holes Sunday for a 5-under 67 and a two-stroke victory over Rickie Fowler and D.A. Points.

AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am Field Reduced

The PGA TOUR and the Monterey Peninsula Foundation announced that the TOUR's Policy Board today approved the reduction of the professional field for the 2010 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am from 180 to 156 players. The amateur field consequently will be reduced by the same number.

Pebble Beach Resorts named Golf Digest's top resort for 2009

Pebble Beach Resorts, which includes The Lodge at Pebble Beach, The Inn at Spanish Bay and Casa Palmero, has again been named “Best Golf Resort in North America” by Golf Digest magazine.

The ranking appears in the magazine’s biannual feature, “The 75 Best Golf Resorts in North America,” published in the October 2009 issue.

Jeff Sluman Wins the 2009 Walmart First Tee Open, Again!

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (AP) -- Jeff Sluman overcame a six-stroke deficit Sunday at Pebble Beach to successfully defend his Walmart First Tee Open title, acing the fifth hole and finishing with a 4-under 68 for a two-stroke victory.

Sluman, who started the day tied for fifth after a second-round 73, had four birdies and the hole-in-one on the 187-yard fifth to finish at 10-under 206.

2010 U.S. Open - California's Only Sectional Qualifying Location

Sacramento’s Del Paso Country Club has been selected as one of the 13 sites nationally, and the only in California, to host a sectional qualifying tournament for the 2010 U.S. Open Championship.

The sectional qualifying tourney at Del Paso Country Club on June 7, 2010, could attract 90 to 100 golfers and perhaps 2,500 spectators, Del Paso head pro Mike Green estimated.

Bill Murray and George Lopez will play in Champions Tour Walmart First Tee Open at Pebble Beach

No one has done more for humor in golf than Bill Murray. Since the release of Caddyshack in 1980, Murray has helped bring levity to the sometimes serious nature of the sport. George Lopez arrived on golf scene more recently, but he's also a fan favorite.

Monterey Peninsula Country Club's Shore Course to replace Poppy Hills for the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am in 2010

The Monterey Peninsula Foundation announced on Wednesday that the Monterey Peninsula Country Club Shore Course will return to the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am rotation for the 2010 tournament. The event is slated for the week of February 8-14 and will mark the 25th anniversary of AT&T's title sponsorship.
