No one has done more for humor in golf than Bill Murray. Since the release of Caddyshack in 1980, Murray has helped bring levity to the sometimes serious nature of the sport. George Lopez arrived on golf scene more recently, but he's also a fan favorite.
The comedians don't often play in the same celebrity tournaments, but it appears Murray and Lopez will both play in the Walmart First Tee Open at Pebble Beach.
According to a report in the Monterey County Herald, Lopez registered for the Sept 2-6 event earlier this week and Murray has verbally committed to the tournament.
The First Tee Open features members of the Champions Tour playing alongside juniors and amateurs. The 54-hole championship event will be played at Del Monte Golf Course and Pebble Beach Golf Links.
Murray and Lopez are regular entrants in the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. Murray played in the First Tee Open in 2006 with winner Scott Simpson and in 2008 with tournament winner Jeff Sluman.
